Cymbals

Mount the cymbals on straps (with pads, preferably) which will allow them to vibrate freely and reduce possibility of breakage.

Strike the cymbals with a full glancing blow, never in a straight "in and out" motion. This latter method chokes the tone and increases the danger of breakage.
